39kg

took me about 30mins to take out 39kg of weight from my 1.4rt. took out the rear seats sparewheel jack parcel shelf and rear speakers etc. (i could go more serious and get rid of the electric mirrors the motors for the electric windows but i cant be arsed. lol

so at a base weight of 860kg (i think) +me 69 kg my car with me in it is 929kg with 80bhp

-the weight of 39 kg gives 80bhp at 890kg. 39kg is 4.38% of 890 kg. 4.38% of 80 bhp is 3.504 so in effect i have gained 3.5 bhp for no cost.

i actually think it looks quite cool without anything in the back but the downside if road noise is up so much!!!

i took the base bhp of my car obviously the condition of other engine parts/ exhaust etc can effect it but these are unknown factors.

or bhp per tonne at 929 kg bhp 80

86.11bhp per tonne

TO--- 890kg at 80 bhp = 89.9bhp per tonne = 3.8bhp increase

lol cool mate :)

do you find its worth having less practicality and more road noise though for 3.8 bhp?

i would like to lighten my Cup, but i need the rear seats really, and wouldnt really want to increase the road noise.

funny thing was i wasnt going to do it, but i was looking at an rsi on autotrader and went to my car to put my service bookback in then just thought, hmm if i cant afford a quicker car il see wot i can do here, lol! biggest noticible difference is in the brakes. and cos the seats literally clip in and out if i know im gonna have passengers itl take literally 5mins to pop them back in, its kinda the most practical way of making the car less pratical:confused:;) yeh road noise is alot louder but what do i care i enjoy the car and driving if i wanted a quite car i wouldnt have an induction kitt or exhaust... or even a renault for that matter, lol.

lol good point, i suppose there isnt much i can really take out of the Cup anyway, apart from get that big layer of snow and dirt off it lol

are you gonna take any more weight out at all?

theres not much more without taking it too extremes, gonna get a hold of some manual mirrors cos they will be lighter. mite try and get a hold of some lighter wheels but im not really looking to spend money on this little idea. but if i get smaller lighter wheels itl also accelerate quicker anyway which will be a bonus. i could take out carpets the other front seat even the actual seatbelts but that means it will take a lot longer to replace all these if i needed to take passengers, as it is its a 5 minute job to get back to the norm i think iv reached the limit. only did it cos i was bored! mite wash the car too, bound to save a few kilos ;)

lol yeh definately...mine must have 10kgs of dirt on it now!

yeh sounds like your at the limit there, the smaller wheels would probably be the best bet now i reckon
