40mpg!

Do other people get 40mpg from their 172cup or is mine broke?lol!

I dont do mway miles so maybe this is why?? got 39mpg on a round trip to alton towers recently from cumbria tho,using 1 tank of optimax.... Not bad at all i dont think considering stuck to about 80ish mph....

im skint at th mo, so driving economy style seems all i do recently. mine is on 50mpg at tho mo. If i dont reset mine for a while and do all sorts of driving it comes out in the low 40's. i like to reset it when i approach a long downhill and cost. reads out 99.9mpg lol. makes me fell good!

But round my area its mainly twisties etc, i do drive them quick and blat past people i come accross, but i suppose it doesnt need to be thrashed to make decent progress! MEMO: I MUST drive harder....!lol!

I only get around 35mpg out of mine... But then my boyfriend drove it at the weekend and it has gone up to 42mpg!!! must be my driving lol

Think he gets slightly more out of his 172 cup

Ive never had an average of under 37mpg in my 172, regularly get 42mpg on the motorway, its a major plus point for owning this car, so many of my friends barely get 30mpg in their cars that are slower than mine - love it

Generally manage 32mpg around town. At a steady 75 mph on the motorway around 45 mpg.

Renault Sport models were aimed at people looking for performance not economy - all things being equal my 182 has offerred relatively low running costs.

I got 42 to heathrow the other day, one way sat in traffic for 110 miles the other way constant 90. My 172 seems to do better mileage than my mates though...

I get around 35mpg in my 1.4 around town, i reckon theres somthing wrong with it as it doesnt seem to go up when i hit the A roads or motorways :|. I reset it all each time i fill up. I got more when i redex'ed it before i filled up. Filled it up normally last thursday its been cack on mpg readings ever since.

Mine is reading 25.2 at the moment but my trip to work is empty country roads followed by crawling town traffic. I did manage 39.9 when I did Bolton -> Dover last August. That involved getting stuck on the M25 so I was quite happy with that.

Entirely depends on how you drive. I've had mine as high as 52mpg from driving across Wales like a granny and I've had it as low as 18mpg from ragging the s*** out of it. lol :dapprove:

I had 42.7 iirc when I was on my way back from picking it up, most motorway with 70 on cruise control but there was some town/country roads in there. Was well impressed, my normal mix of town and country roads to work seems to get me 37 or so which is only 2mpg less than my old 1.6!

Avoid late braking, and do a lot of coasting (thats taking your foot off the accelerator when not needing power...not knocking it out of gear!)
