Picked up the car Saturday looks awesome better than I expected.. drove straight up to wicksteed for camping prior to FCS... Got 34mpg on the way up doing 70ish with a few squirts here and there... Had a great day at FCS
So heres the good and bad points:-
Good... 1. Massive improvement in build quality over my 182, feels solid not flimsy like my 182 was.
2. Seats are excellent (standard non recaros) much better than 182
3. Brakes awesome (say no more!!)
4. Handling feels a lot better than the 182
5. Keyless entry and start/stop (why don't all cars have this!!)
6. Fuel economy has been much better than I thought it would be
Bad.... 1. 6th gear from 70 mph.. floor it and you might as well be in a 1.2
2. As above you gotta kick its arse in every gear to get the best from it..(Not really a bad but takes some getting used to)
3. My mats from Halfrauds keep catching my clutch pedal
4. They give you a bottle of oil in the boot in a velcro bag (this scares me....what they tryin to hint!!)
All in all its a much better car than my 182 in many ways..its doesn't feel any quicker but i thinks thats a lot to do with how solid it is..when I caned the 182 it felt like it was being caned... the 197 just gets on with it...
A pic of the old and the new at wicksteed
