5 Hours of cleaning and....

  Saxo VTS
Decided I'd treat the Valver to a little bit of lovin' so spent 5 hours of saturday cleaning the exterior of the thing.

Started off by washing it down with Meguiars Gold Class shampoo and drying it, then rolled it into my friends works lock up. Auto Glym Super Resin polished the WHOLE car, then Auto Glym Deep Gloss Shine liquid wax was added to the whole car. Auto Glym Glass polished the windows, lights and mirrors. Back to blacked everything inc the tyres and polished the exhaust tip with metal polish.

Eventualy buffed off the Deep Gloss Shine (Longer you leave it, better it looks) and applied P21S carnauba wax to everything except the bumpers and bottoms of doors. buffed all that off (hardest part. After four hours of cleaning and it's tough to get off) then did the bumpers and bottoms of doors with Meguiars carnauba wax.

Tbh, I don't think I'll ever do it again. Was seriously knackerd, and we came to the conclusion that you cannot get shinier than shiney. Lol.

Anyways, some pics:

This is her good side. The other side gets owned in the lanes by brambles and hedges and doesn't come up aswel, imo.

Just wish she was as mechanicaly sound as she is astheticaly.

Anyways, just thought I'd sahre them with ya :)

Very clean mate, a good clean is always worth it!

Tbh I normally finish a big clean and think "pah, that wasn't worth it", but did one today and I'm chuffed to bits with the results.... which in turn makes me want to do it all over again!

Why do you use different waxes for the top and bottom? Can't imagine there's much different in appearance but must be a bit of a hassle having to crack open different containers.

Heh yer. It doesn't seem worth it at the time but it makes you feel good.

Well the P21S was my mates wax and also I ran out of steam to apply enough pressure to take the P21S off. The Meguiars is a lot easier to remove :)

Might detail the interior next weekend...

If you're struggling to get the P21 off, spray a light mist of QD over it, wipes straight off.

Looks good....

I use P21s, highly recommend it. If its too hard to get off, you've left it for too long to dry.
