58k/60k service



  clio sport 172
ok car is now on 60k was last service by garage under warentry at 48k now that s ran out am doing my self , and jsut checking what best things to do at this milage , i goijng to do the following :

engin flush -clean he crap out
oil change ,- gtx magnetec or some thiunk like that (5w/40 is that right one ?) (what s best to run in a 172)
oil filter
speark plugs - NGK ones i think or i got (prf6e-10)
coolent change as never been changed

coolent has never been change and the spark plugs have nver been changed , i have th e f service record , form 8k to 47k

I'd recommend changing the gearbox oil as well. I'd had it done at 36k with the service and the 'box felt a lot more direct afterwards. Had it changed at the 48k service as well, but that was probably a bit overkill. ;)

Isn't engine flush one of those Marmite treatments? Some people rave about about them - others wouldn't touch it with a bardge-pole.

According to Guy from opieoils , give the engine flush a miss . Thats what he told me anyway . Just use a good fully synthetic 5w-40 oil .

Spark plug interval maybe 5 years / 72 k but i wouldn't take that as gosspil . I had to change mine on my 172 at only 30k as it was losing power below 3k revs .

It wouldn't do any harm to change them on a more frequent interval . Maybe every 24- 30k , thats just my opinion though .

yer blets have all been done cambelt was done at 47k and the auxz belt again at that as well , and was done before that at 36k, how easy is it to do the gear box oil and what oil do i put in it , so i should give the clean er a miss then , oh and renult say they put a cleaner on the aircon as well , which i hink you can get in shops
