What Mr John is trying to say is that 6x9's arent veru good pieces of kit. Far more show than go.

As you have hole for Components in the rear you might want to consider uses these.

However, if you don't have any seats in the back.. who is going to be listening to the music? Unless you have a boot install, which could use components!

edeit: wow i need to type faster! all these posts!

Become a full member then, whats a fiver in the grand scheme of things!!

And Mr Saner ( I like the formalitys ;)) makes a valid point, swap them for some 13cm 2 way co-axs taht will fit straight in. Personally I wouldnt bother nad would just upgrade teh front speakers. My rears are only on if theres someone in the back!

yea i surpose, the problem is i have 2 subs wich drown out all the mid range and focals, recently the 6x9 soubd really s**t due to all the base going through the rarcel shelf so really want some componants in the back, what watts are the normal speakers in the back as i dont have then connected. would the 6x9s fit in there?

The standards are probably about 2 watts rms!! No 6x9s wouldn't fit. If your up for some cutting you can get 16cms in like so

Hidden behind teh standard grill (old old pic!) 172 interior in just now, till sunday :(

Personally Id amp the focals if you havent and set it up properly so the bass isnt drowning out the mid and high range. Fit a bass controller if you want to have teh bass up loud occasionally but fo rgood sq the rest of the time.

If your fronts are getting drowned out by all the bass give them more power not more speakers. Adding more speakers won't add volume. Power adds volume

Bin the 6x9's amp up some decent co-ax in the front, dont bother with rears. Problem solved. This will give best overall sound quality. If quality isnt the major concern and just want a reasonable sound (just a non distorted sound) then amp up as many speakers and subs as you can fit in the car. lol.

lol. wel at the mo i have more power going to the rear as i was told to do that so i dont blow the fronts, is this wrong?

D

dick

i find without rear its horrid :/

cant not av my rears on, need um on a bit theyre only standard renault 1s, just hav it faded towards the front more than teh back

You want to use a cross-over in the ideal world. I wouldn't bother with rears. All the people in the SQ comps don't use rears for a reason ;)

hmm id still rather lop my right leg off than use the standard rear speaker mouldings as they have far too much play in them (unless you have secured the plastic in some manner)
/me takes 6x9 argument from other thread - end of day depends on how much u want to spend as to what you do

What do you mean moulding? Do you mean mountings? If so i have find that using MDF baffle is good to get a steady mounting surface

no i mean the plastic its attached to, is a thin, fairly big area of plastic which isnt secured very well
