I have one of the last mk2ph1's (late 2001) and its 8v... i think you mean certain 1.4/1.6 "Sport" clios were 16v.

I have one of the last mk2ph1's (late 2001) and its 8v... i think you mean certain 1.4/1.6 "Sport" clios were 16v.
Mk2 ph1 cars that came with 16v enigines are as follows:
1.2 16v Sport 3dr
1.4 16v Alize (3d manual, 3d auto, 5d manual and 5d auto)
1.4 16v Etoille (3d manual, 5d manual and 5d auto)
1.4 16v Si 3dr
1.6 16v Etoille 5 dr
1.6 16v Alize 5dr
1.6 16v RSi 3dr
2.0 16v RenaultSport 172 3dr
2.0 16v RenaultSport Exclusive 172 3dr
Dont think I've missed any!

Black S2 106 Rallye LHD
A bit of a generalisation saying all 8v engines are rubbish!
But I wouldn't mind 16 in mine :dead:
My 8v power delivery makes launching easier though. In 16v'd 106s I'd either get bogged down at low revs or wheel spin.
Also, the Rallye is 1.5secs faster 50-70 in 5th than a GTi, but that's a stupid diesel-bummer fact because if you wanted to go quicker you'd shift down...
