9 inch wide rims on an 02 172??

Jus wondering if anybody has banged on a set of 16 x 9s. Ive seen loads of pics of cars in germany / france / switzerland with them on but havent seen any in the UK yet. i really love the deep dished euro look.

My motor is lowered at 45mm all round. Can anybody advise if this is possible and what the offset will be?
