95ron or better??

Car  Twin Scroll Impreza STI
With petrol prices getting kind of silly now what does everyone use in their clio.?

I always put 98 ron in my old Evo because it was mapped for it and anything less made the car run sh*te, it would miss and be very hesitant to pull.

At the moment i am using 98ron in the trophy but i think the next stop to the pumps will see some of the cheaper stuff getting chucked in.

A few weeks ago i remember listening to a report on the news about super fuels and if they made a difference. Clearly it made a big difference on the Evo's general running but i'm not so convinced that it will have an effect on the clio. The outcome of the report claimed that for the extra it costs only a few more miles could be had out the tank and no noticable difference was found in the car being faster. To sum up it basically said it wasnt worth it.

thoughts.?

I never used anything other than shell optimax when i had my 182.It just ran better

I run on Super (and always have in the 172), yes the price is dear, the difference is 4p per litre, which is around £1.60 a tank, which isnt a great deal is it!

Use mostly V Power.. I do less than 8k a year now, so I could care less bout the price of petrol atm

I used bp Ultimate now, it's always been run on v-power previously, but I've found it runs much better on bp, no more cold starts where I go kangarooing down the road!

me and my fiancee both use unleaded 97 in the 182 and the type R, 97 is the best we can get round here! is v power 98?? i feel a lot more difference in the type R then in my 182 but i reckon its just better for the engine anyway! i would stick with the v power imo

used to use V-Power and only V-Power but in a matter of weeks it went from £42 a tank to £50 and as i use a tank a week i stoped
I use Tesco 99 now, get club card points too

This question comes up all the time.

The RS clio only has a 2.0l n/a engine, nothing special, so any fuel will work just fine. I've used regular 95 RON in mine for years and it runs perfectly (funnily enough).

Shame about the rest of the car though. lol

So save your pennies and use regular if you're worried about petrol costs.
