ABS and ESP Light Keep Coming On?!

Car  S4 Avant
My Clio is long over due a problem, so tonight it decided to throw a wierd one at me.

Driving along, quite happily, feather the brakes, and the ESP light and ABS light come on, and stay on. Turned the engine off and on again and they disappeared, but alas they came back on again 5 minutes later. Fook knows why, any one got any ideas?

Also when turning around a left hand bend, the handbrake light decided to flash at me. Any ideas for that one? Loose connection anywhere, earth maybe?

Who knows, maybe it's just my dashboard excited to see me?

I hope it's that simple, I'll remove the engine cover tomorrow and check the level of the fluid.

Hope I haven't managed to boil the fluid at all...

stop light and handbrake light fashing slighty or coming on is brake fluid low for sure!!

ABS and ESP light could mean its run really low duno tbh

peace

hahaa... I seem to of developed a Company and brand image over night :S

He wont be singing my praises when I balls up fitting his exhaust and other bits ;)

I think it might have something to do with a cracked ABS ring, so some checking is required, although it's not done it since last night

Mine has started doing this also, But have been told by the garage it could be the 02 sensor, does that sound correct???

Cheers for the replys, checked the brake fluid level last night (or tried to) and it seemed alright. Bloody challenging to read though!

I'll have a look into this brake sensor issue, but like most things, it develops a fault for 48 hours, and then disappears.

It was the same with my passenger xenon, and my temp guage, both problems went after 2 days.

No no. I meant that the ABS light isn't the brake switch (I don't think). The brake switch is ESP/SERV AFAIK. Not ESP/ABS.

^^IIRC the brake pedal switch fault brings up SERV & ESP.

I had ABS/SERV and ESP on all at once, changed the sensor and never done it since. Like the OP has mentioned, turning the car on and off resolves the issue temporarily. Also, with the warning lights on, my ABS and ESP still worked.
