Abs & esp lights?

Hi all.
I'm going to pick up a rb182 tomorrow and have a few questions before I do.

The brake pads are low, grinding. They need to be replaced and will be tomorrow.
Will this make the abs and esp light come on?

Am I right in thinking the esp light is the triangle with the car and skid marks?

afaik low pads do not causea warning light. My 182 had those lights on recently. Needed a new brake light sensor. Search for it also theres plenty of info knocking about on this :up:

Is the fault most likely to be the brake pedal switch?

Certainly was in mine. Could potentially be your issue too. 10 quid to find out mate.

Sometimes though they just need adjusting but mine had given up.

They come loose driving over bumps or rough roads . Check the brake pedal switch hasn't just come loose !

As said, you can adjust the plunger on the switch so its more sensitive to braking, and doesnt throw the fault up

Assuming this is the issue. If not, purchase a new one

I have this issue currently usually on start up. Mine also has the serv light on.

If I drive the car then pull over switch it off and wait 10 seconds and start again it clear but then comes back whilst driving it does not seen to be linked to me pushing the brake pedal.

I 've checked my brake lights and they seem to work which would suggest to me its not the switch. I've visually checked the abs rings and cleaned all the rubbish from them. Initially the lights went off but now there back. Strangely my cruise control works and I would have thought this would have failed. I'm now thinking it must be a dud sensor. Is there anyway of testing these without Renault clip?

Yea its worth a shot. Really common issue on these. If not time to get it to a specialist

Well got a replacement brake switch and the problem persists[emoji20]

For the mean time I'll be driving without abs until I can find someone kind enough to do a diagnostic scan for me

A new one will need adjusting correctly. Pull the pin all the way out. Then push all the way in. Pull out until you hear 2 clicks. That's how mine is set and works perfectly

Can't remember if a low brake fluid level brings up this fault or not.

Worth a check though.

Already checked . It's just a passion in e arse that the cheap code readers won't pick up abs like they do on the vags

I bought a new switch the other day then gog it put on a diagnostic machine mines the 2 rear Speen sensors. Open curcuit I just need to sort the problem now

Gold bronze colour the cars black so it gives me free reign. At the moment I've plastikoted my wheels red
