abs fault

Car  2004 iceberg 172
right got a problem with my two rear abs sensors, these two came up on a diagnostic thing anyways, before i plan on changing the sensors i thought i'd investigate the rings, they seem to be fine, no cracks or nything but my mate noticed that the wiring under the car has been bodged together in the two places shown in the pic below, theres some heat wrap covering it? i havnt pulled it off to look further thou, could this be causing the fault? does the wiring seperate further up the car anywhere so i can maybe change this part or will it be connected right through the car to where ever it goes?

Tbf it's not a very good picture lol, I only really wanted to no of the loom separates further up the car, then I can change the bodged part to eliminate that being the problem?

Ideally the sensors and wiring needs checking with an oscilloscope but as you're highly unlikely to have one due to cost is say check the wiring.
