accident damaged 182???

Hi All-

I was asked by a friend to help him find a 182, he rung me excited today that he found a 182 on PH thats close to both of us- this isnt for me or for trade

it may even be on here- but heres the ad'

Obscured number plate concerns me-

However- advertised as a CUP- If you look closely on pic 2 you will see the left dial of auxillary heating- which means to me its a cup-

However Why the front leather seats?- who puts those seats in a cup-

The car has Zenons, & yet washer blanks- how can that be right>>>??

Bumper has been sprayed, black inserts are missing?--

I cant remember on cups- I didnt think they have cruise control, it has a FF steering wheel- will it actually work???

TBH, a lot of people have no clue about Cup/Non-Cup.

They just spam the title in the hope they get more hits and a better chance of a title. There's flame red cups and all sorts if you look through.

The washer jets might have just broken/leaked like they all do and got fed up with them and swapped them for blanks, but either way, there's so many cars about that it's probably better to move on and find another.

As for hte plate, he might just be one of those weirdo conscious people that think it makes a difference. But unless the crash wrote it off, a HPI check won't show you anyway, but obviously you know that.

I was thinking to myself---- when a car goes in for an MOT do they check if it has zenons then check the washer jets work or just check & see if has washer jets they work, if it just has blanks it may go un-noticed-

Yep. I would say it is a 182 Cup, but with replacement front seats, door cards, steering wheel and headlamps. I'd tell your friend to find a car with original parts, be it a 182 Cup or 182 with Cup packs.

you think the owners gone to that extreme changes, just for a bumper respray and washer jet covers for lights?

^^ as above the starting point to recognise a cup is the air con unit--- that 100 % tells its a 182 cup from the factory- no-one retro fits a climate control unit-

So its a 182 cup with cup packs- however as mentioned above its got so many non standard parts that the conclusion is its been in a front ender-

If the cup steering wheel has an airbag unit??? then perhaps this went off....

dont know if anyone knew-- the wings are stamped front renault when they come out of the factory.....

Its clearly owned by someone who likes to mod their car, going by the yellow calipers.

Just looks like a cup pack 182 to me, don't see what the issue is, there are no bumper inserts missing either? The washer blanks are probably explainable.

the whole point of buying a cup is for weight saving against a standard 182-
Who would retro fit all those bits when it would be easier just have bought a FF 182-

Re the MOT issue concerning Xenons, mine was MOT'd at three Renault garages in it's life, each had no issue with me having Xenons without washer jets. One even mentioned the lights were aimed to high, which would have failed it, but they were kind and adjusted them for me . . .

Look at pic 2 through the steering wheel you can clearly see the dial from the A/C unit- these only come on 182 Cups-

Someone probably purchased a cup, sold it cheap and the new owner put the nicer bits in. But it's def a cup.

Ok Guys an update-

As said this was a Clio 182 Cup with Cup packs-

HPI Clear 2 owners-

My friend has purchased the car-- Seller very open & honest-- had the front bumper sprayed-

Had the original Cup interior in the garage as well as the original cup headlights----
( full interior- door cars & rear bench as well)

The garage replaced the Steering wheel because the old one was shagged-

Drove perfect in a straight line all checks ok-- front wings original- as they were renault stamped-

Owner was once a member on here as it had the cliosport tax disk-

My car has past an mot (maybe 2) since lemonnobby disconnected my washer jet thingys so im sure mot testers dont look to hard at this.

My ph1 had 2 mots with xenons, no washers. Never even mentioned.
