Adjust Alternator Output on 16V

Is this possible?

When blasting it round town it almost revs drop to about 500rpm when i pull up to a junction when im hard on brakes, stereo on after accelerating hard so im thinking its struggling for power. It got a new alternator and i dont remember it doing this before then....any thoughts?

i think youll find that what your describing is nothing to do with yer alternator !! more like idle speed control valve

unless you have a big ICE install then your alternator is quite up to the job

i presume it still happens without the stero on !! do the revs creep back up to about 1k after about 5 secs ?

ho....btw.....you cant adjust the power on ur alternator....youd have to buy an up-rated one.....big bucks !!

do a search for ISCV, get this cleaned out, also look at post somebody did the other day about thier idle being loopy, they got it fixed by having throttle position sensor reset or something. What you r thining off with alternator, is that tuning thing that cuts alternator off, when battery is well charged, giving you back the 5% power or whatever it uses. But you defo dont have prob with alternator as fatherted said.

fatherted - youre right enough - the revs do stabalise back to 1k after about 5 secs and i think it does happen with the stereo off.

I did give the ISCV a clean a few months ago but seeing as the car has done 130k am i right in thinking its fcuked? Also, i the pipe going to my K&N appears to be quite loose - could this also cause problems? (standard airbox is going back on soon anyway)
