Advice needed - limited miles classic policy for Williams

I'm looking to get my Williams insured for the summer this year and want some advice on how to insure my clio. I want to insure it for 6 months (April-September). Would I qualify for a classic policy, with limited mileage to decrease the premium even more?

1995 Clio Williams 3
22 years old (me, not the car!)
6 months insurance
Mileage ~3,000 (or potentially less)

I don't really fancy going through the normal Admiral/Elephant etc (who I'm with atm for my daily) as they won't offer agreed value.

Thoughts?

Try the usual comparison engines to give you an idea where the mass market is at and then call Greenlight and at least one other specialist broker e.g. Footman James. Once you've got the figures then you'll be in a position to decide.

So much of insurance relies on your personal circumstances, your postcode and the risk around the area you are for that specific car that it's hard to give anything other than general advice.

Hi,
Please feel free to give us a try for insurance if you like. We have classic cars schemes that can cater for this type of vehicle. If you wanted to PM me some contact details I'd be happy to arrange for one of my quotes team to give you a call back.
Regards,
Dan.

Footman James.

I have a Renault 5 gt turbo and golf my 1 gti insured with them and both cost less than £100 a year (each).

Will try all of the above - do Footman james insure 22 year olds though? Some won't insure people under 25.

Some won't insure people under 25.

Quite right, especially on classic policies generally you have to be 30 or over these days, I insured my Trophy with Greenlight and they gave me agreed value which was the main point for me, worth a try.

Will deffo try Greenlight then, I'm doubtful i'll be able to get a classic policy being 22 years old. Tried Footman James online quote and they didn't want to quote me. They might quote over the phone though mind.

They do limited miles, not sure about 6 months though. But if it's cheap as, at least you're covered for fire/ theft while it's sat in your garage over winter.

Yep, my E30 was £110 for the year on 3k miles. Agreed value too which was worth that money alone!

Footman James won't quote me as I'm too young for the car (need to be 25+). s**t.

  williams and trophy
Was £130 for my williams with footman James.
Have the trophy insured with greenlight, under £300
Both good companies to do business with, but as you say, might struggle with being under 25.

Thanks for all the kind comments guys.

We can happily help with a low mileage second car price. 6 month policies are hard to come by and generally work out more expensive so doing an annual policy with lower miles will actually probably give you a better price overall.

If you wanted to drop a message with your contact details we can get in touch to run a price.

Kind Regards
Neil
