Aftermarket exhaust + decat

  PH1 172
Would the 2 together push me over the DB limit for track days?

I really like the k-tec supersport exhaust (1 rear silencer) and I would like to purchase a decat so I can run the pops and bangs map from JMS/Henk BUT I don't want any hassle with getting on track.....

I have k-tec decat + backbox and 1 silencer and mine runs at 94db at 5k revs according to coombe. If that helps.

If that's the case then I should get on all or if not most trackdays e.g. Spa being drive by of 98db

Cheers for the reply mate

Save me starting a new thread.......

I remember speaking to a few people at trackdays running decats and straight through exhausts with just the one rear silencer (back box) and they just get through the static test but on the track they go passed the drive by meters and record a too high of a number................am I really going to be ok running this setup if I want to get on track :-/

I do. It's fine. IMO the Supersport is actually quieter with the decat fitted than it is with the cat in place ( until you put your foot down anyway).

Thanks for the reply DMS :)

Apart from track days is there anywhere else that can measure the exhaust db for you?
