Ahh lovely coutry roads... bye bye wing mirror.

Grrr,
Driving up some country roads in Herne Bay on Fri Night, coming back down some narrow roads, car in front of me. Go round a corner, and before i know it, what looked like a focus has flown past the other way not clipping or knocking but Smashing the fook out of my drivers side wing mirror, and then dissappeared. Managed to pull over and see the shattered mirror hanging from some wires, got out and saw the whole colour coded casing had been ripped off, luckily turned around drove down the road a bit and found it albeit cracked but in one piece in the road. Clicked back in , but scraped with a crack. and mirror is fooked, the only thing i can think to make menot so pissed is... his mustave been fucked too. lol

oh well, shizzle happens...

I took my wing mirror apart in my old 172... I was overtaking a tractor on a dual lane one way/single lane the other way road, only this road is slightly curved to the left so, as I pulled out I didn't see the extra wide low-loader coming the other way
The tracks of the catapillar on the truck took the mirror off completely from the joint with a bang. Obliterated the mirror and the casing and, to add insult to injury..
The plastic colour coded cover popped off, went over the roof of my car and went underneath the tractor wheel I was overtaking

£280 in total for ONE full unit plus spraying etc.

It's a sh***er when it happens Dan ain't it, gutted for you matey

On my way up North 2 years ago just after I bought the 182 I was slowing down for a left hand bend, doing maybe 40, and some prick comes round the bend towards me on my side of the road. He was overtaking a cyclist in a complex of 3 blind bends!!! fooking t**t, so I swerved left to avoid him and my mirror got taken out by a tree, doh!!!

Could have been worse, only cost me £19 for new lens. the body coloured section has a slight crack in it to this day which you can barely notice.

That is annoying, it happened to my old car, a van passed me down some lanes and was near enough driving on my side of the road, I managed to move over but he still smashed the mirror off..
