AIR INTAKE PIPE ON MK172.

been looking at the cold air intake pipe and want to know can i do away with the part at the bottom(its bolted to front crossmember+horns)..it has 1 wire pluged in to it...hope to be fitting a air filter very soon and was going to use this pipe as the air feed and take off what ever this part is so its then just a straight through pipe...thanks...

No idea what the wire does, but many people have taken away both the air feeds and the airbox and replaced them with a Viper, so I think you can assume that you can remove this with no ill-effects.

Yup.....off it goes!

If you can be arsed, unscrew the mech part off the tube assembly and leave it plugged in so the ECU thinks its still there.
