Airbag Help

I am taking out the drivers seat of my clio, if i take out the seat the pretensioner and the airbag wont be there and the serv and airbag light will come on..

i have heard of this Diagnostic clip which renault can plug into the ecu and make the car computer think the airbag and prestensioner is not there and therefore no light will come on when i take out the seat

If this is true how much does it cost and where can i get it done

Think they can only remove the side airbags not the pretensioner too, costs about £25 I think for Reno to do it. I'd just use resistors, a damn sight cheaper and less faffing about.

Yup, they work. Several people have used them. The values needed are in eddes airbag faq.

i have read that, is it as simple as cutting the brown and orange wires and soldering a resistor to each end of the wires

Yes its that easy.. Ive done it didnt take long. What seats you getting. I got the ripspeed versions of cobra daytona. Oh and its worth paying the extra for the special sub frames the universal ones are s**t

yeah,i got corbeau clio specific subframes

I Got Corbeau sprint seats

under the drivers seat there are 2 clips : the black one is the pretensioner, i cut the brown and black wire and then solder a resistor to them.

the other clip is grey, on edde's guide it says to cut the brown and orange wire,but there are lots of wires going to it.. Lol

Im confused

I think it also gives you the wire numbers count them

kk thanks , the resistors need to be between 1.8-4 ohms

Im not an electronic whizz and dont have a clue where to buy them...where do you sugest

4 ohms is a better value to use others have had trouble with lower ones.
Maplins or any decient electrics replair shop will have them.
