Airbag Issue

I just went to look at the two top engine mounts to see if it was either of them making a vibrating noise i get under hard acceleration in 1st and 2nd. However removing the battery i knocked something that I think might be todo with the airbag. It had a red rubber cover on it, then a clip lid, both these fell off and a 2 little metal pieces with a spring on top becamce unclipped. I am 95% sure I have reconnected it all the way it was. Started the engine and its fine. Is it safe to drive??

Anyone know for sure?

thats the inertia switch, cuts the fuel if you crash. nothing major or dangerous. but if your car cuts out whilst driving and wont restart be sure to check that 1st

If you did any airbag damage, you'd have the airbag and serv lights on your dash lit up...

in theory yes.

in practise not always.

with regards to the noise in 1st n 2nd is it likely to be gearbox mount? what else?

isit a ph1 172? if so its most likely the rear mount.
