Airbox on a 1.6 16V RSI

Hi All,

I am new to these forums. I currently Own an X reg Clio 1.6 16V RSI. Which currently has over 72,000 miles racked up.

Anyway I Came to check the engine bay today, and noticed the air box was disconnected from the engine and the breather hose loose at the other end. I was wondering if any damage could have been caused to the engine?

Also how do you open the box to change the air filter?

Close. But the airbox looks the same. Ended up using a plastic tigh up to keep the rubber connected to the engine.

Is the air box something you can open up? Or is the air filter on these encapsulated and you buy a new air filter box with a new filter in it? Sorry if this sounds a stupid question, but I have looked in the manual and it just mentions replacing the air filter but not in great detail. Can anyone help a newbie out?
