Alarm Diagrams / Installation Manuals

Does anyone have any links to alarm diagrams or install/uninstall guides on the factory fitted alarm for a Clio 172 W Reg (ph1)?

Need to replace the existing alarm (diagnosed as faulty by Renault). As always the guys behind the desk dont give much away. Is alarm hooked up to the immobiliser etc..

The alarm unit is (if dealer fitted) usually located below the plastic panel under the wipers. To gain access you will need to remove the wiper arms and the wiper mech. it's a bit fiddly but relatively easy. Its all connected to the car with connector located behine the glove box with the cabling to the alarm box going via the bulkhead grommet

Basically the car has central locking with immobiliser as standard and the alarm is an addition to the existing car. You can remove the alarm unit and the locking/imobiliser will still work without the alarm.

As for a replacement ebay would be the best option, I have seen alarm units go for £20-£30 on there.

Phoned Renault and they said there was no record of this car being sold new with Alarm. Can't get wiper arms & mech off but can roughly make out Cobra in there somewhere.

If Cobra after market alarm, would it still be under the wiper mech?

Just need to turn this thing off, its going mental.
