And as a quick add for Post weekend...

Drove up to Castle Combe for FCS, did a soaking track session, then drove to Santa Pod for Performance Vauxhall Show, due to me previously being in the vauxhall scene and having loads of mates there. The little DCi is now f**ked, Outer N/S CV is completely shot, clutch is slipping when warm (had been for a while anyway tbh) and its got a major engine rattle! Oh well!

Not much to update really, Will have more over the weekend.

Got one pic from FCS, Haven't seen any track pics of it, not that it surprises me tbh. Just before I left, looks much better with no front plate. Full lock is due to feeling the driveshaft lol.

Today had this huge fucker turn up... Single Mass conversion flywheel & clutch for the 1.9. Its used, but it cost me £40 delivered! Will find out what the clutch is from, and then order up a new one.

In other news, Ventura's Ph1 passed the MOT the other day, and I've finished removing the blue paint from the rocker cover & breather plate. Will be painting silver soon.

Excuse the terrible pic, I was holding the bonnet at the same time!

More in the next couple of days hopefully!

Yeah it was soaking, Only had a few minor slides, mostly at Quarry (that first, shitty corner). First time I've done Combe in the wet, done it in the try hundreds of times!

I do try. Heres some more progress for you!

Feels like some real progress today, brilliant day, helped by Dr Blast @Dr Jekyll too!

Started at 9AM this morning, With this.

Started removing the sound deadening tar on the passenger floor....

Got the seats out etc, started removing the rest of the sound deadning

and then the sticky stuff left.

Once all that was gone, masked up, prepped and ready to paint!

Two coats of Satin Black later.....

Chilling in the rain/sun/clouds...

Everything back together, and then skateboard grip tape fitted to the high traffic area's

Drivers side too

Looks much better!

I felt the rear was looking a bit tired vs the front, so painted that too! Finished job...

And Dr Blast painted the rocker cover too.

Started pulling the tar crap off the roof too, got half of it off before I got bored and fed up with it, so will finish that tomorrow.

Big up to @Dr Jekyll for helping me today, Helped a lot.

Serviced Robs ventura's Ph1, its been sat around for a while, and I kept forgetting to ask, better late than never!

Genuine stuffs used

Mashed the oil filter getting it off, it was f**king tight.

Drained the entire coolant system and flushed as much as possible, then replaced thermostat

Tonight I swapped the bulkhead panel from AC, to non-AC, fills the hole and looks much better.

Few more bits to be done still. Need to spend some time on my own car, as I need to temp fix it, as its just fucked to be honest.

Nah, had to buy that one, I reckon I threw the ones I had away! :/

Todays s**t update.

Engine has been knocking for ages now, but last night, it got real bad. So dropped the oil this morning, finding out how bloody thin it was, with it spashing f**king everywhere

Terrible pic, but I then dropped the subframe, and removed the sump...

To inspect the big end bearings... Not as bad as I was expecting TBH

Crank is good too

However its a different story for the mains...

I think I'm going to chuck some big end bearings in it and see how long it lasts. I don't have time to do anything else.

You checked it's not a timing issue ? Valve on piston clatter.

Its not that sorta noise. It also started progressively, and that wouldn't explain the knocking on cold starting for about 5seconds.

If it still knocks after this, I'll just wait for it to blow up.

Will take a while for it to finish itself, the West Midlands lot will tell you, my first engine knocked like a trooper and still went on until I forced it to make a rod blow lol.

Car or bike?

Bike wise I'd buy a CBR600 F-Sport, or a SV1000. Experianced both, loved the high revving of the 600, but also loved the low down torque and ease of riding the SV.

We'll see.

Probs will be winter due to the fact bikes are so much cheaper in winter.

I've nearly killed myself on one, memory is still vivid over a year later, as is the bump on my shoulder from the broken collarbone, but I still wanna do it again.
