Bit of updating to do here.
Firstly, changed top mount bearings, then headed to Castle Combe for the Forge Action Day...
That was a couple of weeks ago (I think?)
Started pulling the Laguna apart Saturday.. Last time it'll ever look like this
Engine ready to come out, but lacking time.
Boom, engine out
Then, Monday, started pulling the Clio apart.
Made quite a mess, but got lots stripped
Engine coming out
Poor, empty bay
Then by the end of the monday night, although this pic was taken This morning (Tuesday) since it was dark last night!
f**ked about with engine mounts a bit
So, at the end, it fits, the drivers side mount even mostly fits without issue, it needs a bit of modifying. Gearbox passenger side is a whole different story, due to the huge PK6 (6speed Laguna/Trafic/Clio V6 box) the chassis leg needs some modifying, so what I'll do is cut a lot of it out and then strenghen it and box it back up so its smaller. And also fabricate an engine mount. I may try and use a different mounting. Then I just need to figure out the front and rear engine mounts (Dogbone etc).
Along with...
Custom Driveshafts (172 outer, Pk6 inner)
Custom boost pipes (hard pipe as much as poss)
Complete Custom exhaust (3inch, no boxes)
ECU/Wiring pissing about
In-tank fuel pump/fuel lines
Hydraulic Clutch conversion
Gear cable conversion
Custom A/C & Alternator brackets
Custom coolant pipes.
Plus lots more. All part of doing a conversion that as far as I know, nobody has done before.
We'll see how this goes!
