Gave my cup a good waxing this weekend.....

Bloody hard work, took ages! Washed it with a halfords car wash brush to start. Nice bit of gear, big head with soft bristles and long handle, definitely a time saver. Next I went over it with autoglym tar mac remover, good but I suspect it's just expensive turps. Then a nice coat of autoglym super resin applied with a sponge and taken off with black magic hand wax thing. Not bad but a bit fidley for the corners. Next up autoglym clean wheels, took all of the brake dust off easy. Finished off with some mcguirs hot wheels tyre blackener.

Took a few hours and I'm sore all over. I don't want to drive it now :dapprove:

Although the good thing about waxing is your car doesn't get as dirty as quick, plus it's easier to wash the next couple of times too.

Washed mine at the weekend and waxed it too, but I clayed mine as well as it was starting to pick up black spots on the paintwork... My first 4 hour wash lol

Looks good mate , but it'll be dirty again tomorrow Waxin it makes it hell of alot easier when you wash it next time

I use this wax , piece of p*ss to put on , take off .

Thanks guys I'm a car wash newbie, who would have thought it was so complicated?

Are brushes bad? I can understand a sponge could trap grit between it and the paintwork causing scratches. The brush is very very soft and can hold a lot of water so I'm thinking it shouldn't cause damage? It certainly isn't the kind of brush you would sweep a floor with or something. I have tried a wash mit but the brush is fast and gets in the corners easy.
