Almost NIP’d

Had a NIP for doing 41mph in a 30mph limit.

I thought "B******s! Why didnt the b2 warn me/I see it? Hold on, West Yorkshire...last Friday morning...Ive must have been cloned as I was at work".

Turns out the reg no. was wrong...it read his N at the end as my W.

Be sure before signing a NIP as it might not be you

Had exactly the same thing happen to me. Got my first ever NIP ... thought bugger ... then thought Ive never even been to Manchester in this car, let alone at 4AM the other day.

Took an assertive letter and a few weeks, and in the end I got a terse note admitting nothing but saying that the NIP had been cancelled.

So what if I signed it, without looking at it carefully.

Sounds like you got lucky. And you cant honestly expect a government organisation to admit it got something wrong, or even apologise?

This happend to me as well had to call them up and they re checked the film!! i t was a bike for fcuk sake and i had a car!!

i really had a go as it was 93 in a 50 Roadworks, and it made me feel sick!!



They wrote me a letter of apology!!

I got a letter of apology this morning...was quite surprised.

Whats p***ed me off is that the guy that comitted the offence will probably get away with it now, unless they can get a NIP to him by this Friday - theres a two week rule isnt there?

Yup, two weeks... a bit longer if you have a company/hire carm because they need to track you down.

he was sat next to my eating his dinner at the time in are crew room

You did well to get an apology ... all I got was "Due to an adminstrative error we have cancelled the NIP ....". Doesnt even make sense ... almost read that they cancelled it in error, vs. we shouldnt have ever sent it.
