Alpine + Stalk (Again!)

Hiya

I've just connected my Alpine 9850Ri to the iPod and it's working fine. While I had the HU out I also linked up the stalk and display using the two components supplied by Car Audio Direct (seem to be the popular choice on here). Now then, the stalk and display just are not working, and I dunno why.

I connected the connectors up as per the instructions:

Yellow from CAD connector to the yellow on the car.

8 way connector from the CAD connector to the car then the other end to the stereo.

"Headphone" style jack plug into the back of the Alpine for the remote.

With all that connected, the HU still works fine, so god knows why the stalk and display don't.

Any ideas?

If the 9850Ri is the same as my DVA-9860Ri then the current adaptors wont work. I am waiting for Alpine to release a new adaptor for the Clio (it is allegedly the first to be released early Sept) However my old adaptor does sort of work with the stalk. Whats with the yellow connector? I thought that was the CD Changer control lead. Mine connects to the red connector that plugs into the display unit, or rather you unplug the cable with the red connector and plug it in to the adaptor cable. This wont give a display as it is now isolated. The clock and temp still work though.

Alpine technical support are only a phone call away and are unbvelievabley helpful! THey talked me through any proiblems I had with any of my previous alpine units.
