Already mapped and what code does this mean?

Sat in the car right now with the rst plugged in, laptop to hand and i just unlocked and set the rst to my car and scanned the ecu, it works and found the ecu has had 3 updates in its life before.
The last one was done 20/11/03 on a U-DIE (NXR) programming tool, another 2 just before that by a FFIOX kit.

Just wondering if it already has a map on it?

Also the ecu logged a fault code 'engine shift light' ... is that more of a log for renault techs to see that i nailed it a few times or is there actually a problem? The light works, that much i know.

doesnt give me a fault code, just says 'shift light fault' came on today after 100 miles of driving down the m40 since i reset it yesterday.
