altanator belt is loose!!

can i sort this out my self? the engine was out and put back together but this belt is loose!!

there is a tensioner bolt that you use to tighten the belt - its on the side of the block although you wont be able to get to it very easily without removing various parts in my experience - any thoughts anyone?

do you not have a mechanically minded freind nearby who could help you. Safety first really if you trusted your own workmanship you would have fixed it without posting up (or so I would have thought) best to get it done properly, just to be on the safe side.

Whereabouts are you bobby theres bound to be someone on here nearby that could help.

If you fancy doing it yourself, remove engine cover, engine mount and jack the engine up under the sump, can be a little tight though - have you got air con?
