Alternator price and fitting?

Alternator is on its way out and wanted to know cheapest place to get part and what costs to fit normally?

box-fresh alternators aren't cheap, I had a refurb fitted a couple of years back and, with labour, it worked out somewhere near 700 quid... I think

I'd have thought you can manage it for about half that unless you start taking the opportunity to get the cambelt done at the same time etc.

whole thing sheared off of its mounts and caused some damamge I think.

So that cost probably did include other parts too

Sounds about right for a new genuine renault alt supplied and fitted on a cup.
