Amp and Sub questions

Hey
Im a total noob when it comes to car audio, but i have a jvc headunit and some edge speakers and im not looking for anything too loud just some punch

I was just wondering if i brought this sub :

Would it be possible to connect some speakers to it to amp up the front or back speakers?
or will the amp within it be a mono amp only for the sub

generally with it being an active sub the amp will only power the sub, you'd be far better off getting a separate amp and passive sub so that you have more options, also if the sub blows you don't have to replace both and visa versa.
