Amp Protection Light Problem

  Monaco Blue 172
Hi all, just wondering if any of you can help

thought ide install me stereo sub and amp since its been sat under the stairs for a good month.

wired it up all like before. but amp protection light is on and fan wouldnt kick in, bothered by this took it to my mate who tryed it on his wiring, amp fired up fine, also had another mate who had a spare wiring kit, we went throught one wire at a time from the Audio leads at back of stereo for sub, to remote to main live cable, and yet it still remaned the same, the earth is exactly the same cable i used before, and in the same place as on my old clio (little black screw in the boot)

but i must admit, tryed checking the wire, the wire is connected as beeped with a volt meter (i did have to crimp a new connector on) but put enough solder on there to keep a submarine 2getha :D

*but as pointed out ^ tryed another amp wiring kit cable*

just fustrating me, anyone shed any light on the subject

Hope my stereo aint fooked

cheers

no, this is what i was thinking about doing, just been out at tea break and me and my work mate tested my live cable, and it was showing 12V one end to the other.. the only thing i can think is the ground?

i have it where the backlights are screwed to the car, and my workmate suggested maybe scraping off the paint to show the bare metal, do you this would work ?

open to suggestions lol

Re: Amp Protection Light Problem - updated

just like to update this thread, incase anyone else is experiencing the same, at lunch time today, looked behind the cloth behind the light where i had my amped earthed, and scratched off all of the paint, obviously wasnt grounded properly because it wasnt bare metal, but now amp fires up fine

:rasp:
