Another 182 Track Car Thread

Just renewed my membership so thought i would start a thread for the track car,

some of you may know of me through my Raider

after taking it to the ring last year and doing a few sessions at teesside autodrome i caught the track bug, but felt the raider was too nice to be ragged around a track, perfectly capable but not sensible IMO

so i decided to hunt for a 182 track car looked far and wide at standard cars and ones half prepped,
in the end i found this little 182 literally round the corner, i came to and agreement with my dad and brother to all go thirds on the car, so that it would make it even lighter on the pocket and more fun comparing track times ect on trackdays
here it is the day i picked it up

The Car was no means perfect but it was a good start, it meant that i could get straight out and have a play see what needed to be improved on,
Little Spec List:
Corbeau Sprint Seats
Ktec Induction Kit
Toyo Exhaust (I Think)
3 Sets of Wheels
15" Ultralights with Dunlop Slicks
16" OZ F1's with R888's
15" with Ditch Finders
Stripped Out
Ebay Bolt In cage
OMP Deep Dish Wheel
Sparco Harness's
Lowering Springs
s**t Short Shift Kit
and a hell of a lot of decals

First things first
Cambelt Change and a service,

Then for the first trackday (Teesside Autodrome)
great little track for a shakedown,

Instantly realised the brake pads where crap (Euro Car Parts Special), cooked after a couple of hard laps so went for some brembo OEM pads just for now as we had croft booked a couple of days later where the car performed well for its setup really, engine really pulled strong and went well but noticed a lot of rubbing front the front tyres

after croft it was pretty much the end of the track season, so decided to improve the car a little over winter
first job de sticker and refresh the front shocks as they seemed to have been leaky and had sagged

Stripping this stuff out was great fun

Then it was time for another track day, went blyton early in the year and all it did was rain the second we walked out of the briefing, r888's are no fun in the wet,
only video from the day have some on the go pro but none worth putting up,

we did a little more on the car ready for our next croft outing at teesside autodrome
went for a scorpion exhaust as it came up cheap and sorted the mounts out had a extra set of hands to help

Tidied up the bay a little bit with abit of hammerite

And put in some Ferodo DS3000 Pads

we where ready for croft, the weather was perfect so we decide to give the slicks a go on the afternoon session, and they were awesome, the grip was unreal one we had the pressures set right,
had this happen when they where cold

after the day the gearbox was ruined the shitty short shift kit was a massive part in it missing gears to heavy ect, so out came the first gearbox and a apparently mint one went in, along with a brand new clutch,

But during the first test drive with the "mint" box it crunched into third, angry was an understatement, as we had booked the nurburgring for the coming weeks and to be mugged of like this was a s**t thing for someone to do, so sourced another box and put that in ASAP

36502866816_0a025d1c21_b.jpg
also purchased a BMS Shifter to tighten things up and get rid of the eBay shifter

fresh set of rubber for the 15"s ready for the Nurburgring R888R's

so we arrived at the ring friday evening went well, few warm up laps getting used to the car, starting to get the feel for it again

then saturday, managed to get three laps in before the power steering s**t its self half way round

took it to phillip weber over there, what a nice guy, so easy going and helpful, unfortunately there was nothing he could do as everything is shut on a sunday and he also noticed that the wheel bearing had give up in a bad way and he said we where lucky that we had managed to get that far round the ring let alone drive off it at adenau bridge
so that cut our weekend short, but we where lucky, so can be grateful for that

as soon as we got back we went about the EPAS conversion which i had bought months earlier but never got round to fitting, did a A/C and PAS pump delete

[URL='https://flic.kr/p/Wseifk']looped the standard rack with the original pipe work to make it abit more reliable than the rubber hose and jubilee clip method

after some fresh wheel bearings we where ready for the next outing at blyton again, and the car was on form was the quickest thing on track that day barring a couple of west fields
(Poor Quality for some reason)
had a good play against josh's 172 cup @24JSeymour, which made the trackday javelin were great with us allowing us to snake each other around the circuit nearly trading paint in places, by far the best track day ive done so far,

but hopefully a few more to come over the summer, so stay tuned
