Another busy week in prep for FCS!!

  172
Obviously many will have been keeping an eye on my car as i try to get it ready for FCS, this has been a priority of mine for a while, im just glad the date was pushed into July and not May as it was last year.

Me and my mates Rob and Lee have been busy sorting the interior ready for the cage which is been built at the mo and should be fitted in two weeks.

We built two interior panels from MDF, the front one was fitted with a drop that sits down into the footwell and hides all the fuel pump cover etc, and the other is removable to gain access to the spare if needed.

I got some fancy cloth from a interior specialist i know, as close to the Alcantara as possible and at £12 a metre instead of £75 a metre for the proper stuff helps the budget. Im so pleased with the look at the moment.

Lee a friend who runs a specialist stainless metal works helped by building an oversize strut brace which is bolted into both rear strut tops and will not be moving anywhere, he really surpassed himself, cant wait for the cage now!

Anyway a few pics below to show you whats been going on, hope you like!

sorry but i dont see the point in adding the wood making it heavier defeats the object of removing the seats and the back strut bar is just to big

Its for show not the track Robin! Weight is not an issue, ive only used 1/2" MDF anyway, i was going to spray the interior the same as the exterior but i wanted it to do it this way, makes it easier for me and looks more plush.

When you see the cage you'll get the bigger picture.

nice brace,

is it ok bolted by the sides like that, thought it was meant to got onto of the actual strut. will it pass an mot like that?

MOT passed on tues mate with this fitted, its a lot safer than bolted onto the strut tops like the KTEC ones, this crossed my mind when i was chopping off the harness holders to fit them onto the brace but i reassured it would be fine by Lee who builds space frame Grass trackers from scratch, i trusted him and it proved right. I MOT'ed it straight away but it wasnt due until next month, i wanted re-assurance before the show.

about £150, they are LED as well so no bulbs to change apart from the indicators and fogs. Rare as rocking poo, ill let you know when they arrive, will probably auction them off on here, 1st come 1st served.

thanks Chris....;)
