Another day, another problem....

Car  Mazda Mx5 + Clio 172
Here's a new one just started yesterday..... When I've been braking (say to stop at lights etc) and then set off again there is a "clunk" from the o/s front wheel, almost like the brakes are sticking a bit. Doesn't do it after deceleration only seems to do it when I've used the brakes. Any suggestions? :)

High speed stops, or any speed ?

Sticky caliper, or fubar'd pads ? Are they due a change perhaps ?

Get a friend to stand/sit/crouch on the pavement, come to a rest by them, then set off. They should be able to see if it's the front or the rears clonking...

It's any speed tbh, possibly am due for some new pads, shall take your suggestion and get a mate to have a look for me (when this bloody wind subsides!)

If they're worn out, the pistons may be wound out too far and are not happy releasing now ? You can check the thickness of the outside pads without even taking the wheel off, probably the inner ones too if it's on full lock the right way ;)

Enjoy !
