Another stupid tyre thread Hankook vs Spec 2

Hankook V12 evo for £40 a corner
Yoko Parada Spec2 £47.50 a corner

Normally I sing the praises of the Uniroyal RS2 but I fancy a change for my 15" wheels.... need to buy sooner rather than later.

What would you have out of the above two? I am intrigued by the Yoko Ps2 grip in the dry, but the Hankook seems the cheaper, better all-rounder.

Answers on a postcard please...

Thanks

Little evening bump for this! I know it's been asked a million times but just looking to clarify.

Ruled out T1r's as I have read the wear is bad...

Hankooks.

Close thread ;)

I love Parada's but with winter (and it's going to be a harsh one) around the corner, if these are your only/everyday wheels, go with the V12s !

Paradas are useless in the wet and wear quicker than the T1r's. However the Paradas do work well in the dry.

I can swap back to my 16" 182 wheel on rainsport 2's for winter if needed... So not definitely a deciding factor!

Thanks for the feedback everyone....

Any ideas on the comparative wear of hankook vs yoko on a clio? Or anyone had both?

Might get on track next year but this isn't the main priority atm, so road use only. Driving very mixed... Typical week is short commute monday-fri and a 350mile motorway run every weekend with some A/B road blasts at the end.

I didn't even get half way through a set of Paradas on my Ph1 which was driven hard everywhere, in about 18k. Swapped front>rear after about a year.

At the £28 a corner it cost me, if they lasted 6 months for the grip they give I couldn't really care :D

i loved my yokys for the verry short time i had them. after a blow out on 1 and bead failure on the other three iv been put of completly. (same batch and all in the same area on the side that is pushed on) scared the crap out of me.

hankooks for me sam. the grip on both is great but the yoko's have the dry grip edge i think. but all rounder i'd have the v12's over the spec 2s.

hankook v12 evo's are the WORST tyres i have ever had!!! truly shocking!!
spend the extra £20 and get pilot exalto 2's.. last twice as look and the grip in wet and dry is amazing!!

Worst? Really. Had mine for a while and they are great, wet or dry. Excellent on track also

Cheers everyone, bit the bullet and went for the V12's after much debate. Ordered at Midnight lastnight from Camskill, should be here tomorrow. Top Service!

Most fitting places bite your arm off for £15 a corner round here though mate :(

I need 5 tyres fitted and I'm gonna drive around until I find someone to do it for 50 quid or less lol!! Extortion even at that price!

Never had a problem with them in the wet personally. No scary moments at all. Certainly no worse than any other tyre. The way folk portray these you'd think they were the equivalent to slicks in the wet on a F1 car

I'm over 10k on the current 4. Toyo's are total crap. Ran out some CF1's on a car with about 30bhp  @ the wheels after about 5k

That's a bold statement! I've had V12s for 7 months and I've found them to be excellent. Great price too. I was prepared to spend well in excess of £100 per corner and get PS3s but after reading up about the V12s, they were worth a go just for the price.

Happy I spent half as much!
