Another TB Q

My 01 ph1 172 has been developing problems over the last few months which i assume are related to the throttle body.

Its idling now at 2k rpm & engine is now hunting. I've also noticed one of the pipes from the airbox has perished. (Highlight in red below).

I'm going to get a mechanic/mate to clean it tomorrow but just wondering how much these cost in the UK.
In Ireland the dealers are looking for €360.
How much are they in the UK?

Also a silly Q but is it a big job/take alot of time to clean the TB?:)

thanks

Sounds like its the throttle body. I priced one up at renault and it was around £250. you can give it a good clean and re-lubricate with some grease, but god knows how long it will last!

Could also be the ICV? There only about 25 quid off ebay, worth a punt before forking out for a throttle body, but i'd just clean it and relube it make sure you lube the springs on the outside as well, Not a big job at all about an hour max including taking off refitting etc.

Is there no one local you can just swap the body over to check before getting a new one?

Simple job to do, should only take 20 min

Thanks for the help lads.

Unfortunately 172's arent all that common over here so will just give it a clean and see what happens.
Thanks again.

Idle control valve mate - a duff throttle body wont cause the revs to hunt as the tb is a flap attached to a cable - the cable has to be pulled to open the butterly, so id say icv

Thanks for all the replies lads.
:)
I’ve one more Q.

The last few months I’ve felt the car isn’t as quick as it should be. Could this be an air feed problem or likely the throttle body?
It’s difficult to describe but it just feels less free revving and a slight reluctance to accelerate. Its noticeable to me but probably not to the average passenger.
Just wondering if all this could be related?
