Anyone have a branch office in the US and deals with IT?

... We have aquired a small company in the US and they are now looking to purchase 15 x Windows 7 laptops.

They currently only have quotes for Dell machines ... that actually look over specced and over priced!

Just wondering if any of you guys have a branch office or something and know of the main reliable suppliers over there ?

Dell are usually well priced - if they have over specced then just tell them what you want?

I think its a 3rd party company who have quoted the Dell laptops, best part of $20k for 12 machines and they are only really used for MS Office, might try Dell direct in the US from here or ask my Dell account manager.

I actually only buy HP's over here, have been very good for the last few years.

Go direct to Dell. I imagine the 3rd party will have put a markup on the quote for:

1) Their time getting and putting together said quote
2) Setup / installation fees

Its $20k for 11 laptops and they dont even have the full version of MS Office which we need.

I've asked my account manager for a contact at Dell US rather than messing around with other suppliers. Dell tend to offer installation services aswell so they are near ready to go out of the box.
