Anyone work for Virgin Media or know about V+ boxes?

I'm thinking of buying a Samsung V+ box off the 'bay to replace the old style V+ one I have ATM. I asked Virgin but apparently you can't specify which box you get. Questions are:

Should it just plug in to my existing connection without any specialised set up?

Virgin boxes are leased as I understand it.. does this mean that all the ones on Ebay are less than legit?

If you buy a box off the bay it could be asked to be returned. The box could then be blacklisted and if you have a problem with it you are screwed.

The chances are you will get a samsung one now. if not, tell em it keeps freezing nd you will get a tech

I have a Samsung V+ box and never had any problems with freezing or owt. However, my parents Samsung box freezes all the time, so Virgin came out and replaced with the old style bulky box which has been fine! In other words, if your current box is fine keep it!

They are. I'm on my 3rd V+ HD box in under a year. First one was one off the new Samsung ones which died in the first 2 weeks. Everytime it's been replaced the engineer has had to re-pair the card before any of my actual channels come up.

If you get an engineer come out you get whatever he happens to have in the back of the van at the time, I only think you get a new Samsung one if you;re a new V+ customer.

My V+ box is over 2 years old and it has been perfect. It is a black one and not sure of its make.

Scientific Atlanta. I think the old Pace boxes were phased out by then, and the Samsung's had not come along yet.
