Apple IBook G4 Wireless Router Compatibility?

Howdy folks,

My gf has an Ibook G4, and she needs the internet at home when back from uni, but both her and me are a bit clueless as to what wireless router she would need to get connected up.

They have NTL Cable broadband connected to 1 desktop pc at the moment.

Does she have a router already (a non wireless one)?

Best bet is to get an "ethernet/wireless router" and connect it to the cable modem.

You can then connect the iBook via wireless and the PC via ethernet to the router (they normally have 4ethernet ports as well as the wireless).

Most branded stuff will work with Apple. I use a Netgear, works fine.

use WPA security as i've had issues with apple laptop's connecting via WEP on some routers.

she is connected by dsl cable at uni but when she comes home has no internet mate.

should the router not be an adsl one then? does it need to be cable? I've heard good things about netgear, I just need pointing to the right one for the job.

So which router did you get in the end for the IMac?

I've not decided yet but it'll be either the Linksys or the Netgear. I've read good and bad user reviews for each so I'm still not 100% sure.
