Apple updates. Do they require a specific port?

Just a general question chaps. Our G5 Mac has no issue at all getting on the internet. However, the software updates option just doesn't seem to to work - it times-out eventually.

I'm wondering if the updates use a specific port that we are currently blocking? Or is it something more obvious?

Never had an issues either Ethernet or Wireless

Just check the firewall logs to see if packets are being dropped.
I guess you're at work and the firewall has been configured properly..

As stated, check firewall for logs, it should update fine.

Never had problems even with them behind a firewall and most ports locked down. I would imagine it just went through something like 80 to avoid any problems.
