Are braided brake hoses really worth it ? And where to get them?

I am wandering if i should put braided hoses on my 172FF ?

My setup at the moment is

Front.
EBC Greenstuff pads
Brembo Max Discs

Rear
Standard Pads
Standard discs

Is it really that big an improvement on the brakes ?

And where is the best place to get them ?

Ktec ?

Or are there any other places that sell them ?

worth buying in my opinion. ive seen them going cheap on ebay, but you can get them from tonnes of places.

they are worth every penny your best option will be off yozzasport and go for the monoauip ones they are a better quality as they are made from air craft grade materials and + they are cheeper than the Goodridge hoses

  FF182 Brembo Max, BMC CDA
do it, i have the same setup your looking at but redstuff instead of green. best money i have spent on the car.

Ok cheers guys.

How easy are they to change ?

Just a case of off with old and on with new ?

And can i use a normal spanner ?

Or does it have to be a brake one ?

And any tips on bleeding them ?

Is it a case of working from the caliper furthest away from the brake fluid reservoir and working your way forward ?

yozzasport are overpriced, goodridge hoses with stainless steel connectors on ebay for 35.99.

pagid blue brakes are the best money can buy. been researching myself seeing as no one responded to my thread earlier (as usual!!!)

D1cky before you just go out there and buy them you have to think to yourself is it really worth it I mean do you hammer the car around, are you heavy on the brakes I mean the standard items are okay unless your a very "enthusistic" road driver or do trackdays I wouldnt worry to much!

Like I said depends on circumstances

I do like to have the odd hammer around the back roads.

Aint done a track day though (as i have an FF and it'd be a waste of time) :(

Depends on how you drive it. Sure there is a tendency towards understeer, but the fun is in honing your skills, getting better with each lap, hitting the next corner just right, driving on the limit, blasting through corners etc.

:)

best mod i did to my 172 cup mate. much firmer pedal response and the brakes just felt that little bit sharper. well worth the money.

Fairly straight forward job...just a bit messy when you change the rear lines (underneath on the nearside). I did mine on my own uing a Gunsons Ezibleed System from Halfrauds...£20 iirc. I would use 2 litres when changing fluid....as a genourous precaution....castrol super dot 4 if you can get it.

yup, if youve gone to the trouble of spending decent money on pads then deffo worth it. cost about 50-60 quid inc fluid and a few hours crawling under the car with liquid dripping up your sleeve :)

I did a guide when i did mine which I shall have to dig up and finish to upload
