Argh! I hate myself [56K No]

  ?

Was driving through a country road and was probly going a bit too fast for this corner, lost control and smashed through a electric metal fence. Car ended up in a farm and the farmer came so I had to pay him off to not phone to police etc and obvs for the damage (thankfully he only wanted £10!, and was a nice bloke).

I am gutted though, my car is damaged now and i feel so stupid. :( My parents are going to go mental and probably never trust me again. Im normally ever so careful but i dont know why I was pushing it today, on a road I clearly shouldnt have been.

So here are the pics, what do you guys think? What am I looking at here? This is after a quick wash down and a quick tcut ... I know i need a new driver side arch/wing/whatever that cracked bit is, and will touch up paint get rid of the rest of the minor scratches? (Ive also included some pics of a few scratches that were there when i bought the car). Also the tire has a cut in it shown in the picture which im gnna get looked at as i dont think its safe, and the wheel itself has bent

Thanks very much guys... im devestated.

Unlucky fella! To start with, definitely get that wheel/tyre changed asap - you don't want another accident!
Also, looks like you'll need a new wing (if that's what is cracked in the pics).
The rest you can probably get chips away or someone like that to fix.

most of them would buff out. take it to a local spray shop & ask them to buff it..

Mate,

I crashed my car today too and know how you feel. It is gutting.

I think Jamie (combine04) will post some pics up soon.

To be honest mate, it doesnt look that bad !

As said, the wheel is a priority and as the arch is plastic, should get one fairly cheap. Get on to partsgateway and see if they can find one for you.

As again, as said, a good proper buff should do the trick and could just be a couple notes cash in hand etc..

I did the exact same but prob a little faster and into a wall not fence lol.... the worst part was the wall that i destroyed belonged to my passangers dad. lol

That car is now in heaven unfortuneatly.

Sorry to hear this mate, most of its just cosmetic which I wouldnt worry about too much, I would get a new wheel and tyre on their and get the tracking checked incase you've bent something.

It's a small price to pay for a good lesson IMO.

Some of us have misjudged corners and fortunately learned from them... others havn't been so lucky. I even recall a fatality on here some time ago.

A few quid, and it'll be back to it's former glory.

Sure about the scratches coming off with a buffer? Anyone know any good bodyshops near Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire? And how much am i looking to pay?

Im looking through fleabay / classifieds for the wing atm. Hopefully Ill find something soon.

Theres a good place in hertford called Marshal panelcraft, they are good at what they do and there pretty reasonable price wise!

Just noticed, the windscreen has some scratches. There light but still annoying! I hope I dont need a new one! Can they be removed easily?

*******DO NOT DRIVE ON THAT TYRE MATE!*******

not calling you stupid but put your spare on straight away you've risked it enough driving home on it jus be glad your safe and learn from your mistakes. As said before little bit of work and will be back to its former glory soon enough.

  ?
driving home was about 1/2 a mile at 10mph because i feared the worse about that tyre... thanks for the advice though.

unlucky dude, like some have already said its a small price to pay for a good lesson.
shouldnt cost alot to get it back to how it was.

sorry for you mate, dont worry about it, just unlucky if you crash, everyone on here will push it at times, its just something we all do, just take more care in future mate and know your limits, hope it all gets sorted for as little as possible.

  Better than yours. C*nt.
That was pretty stupid wasn't it.

Remember in future, you're driving a base-model on steelies, not a RenaultSport or anything else with a degree of handling in mind... It'll never go round corners like a racing car...

Sorry to hear this, hope you get it sorted. It doesn't look too bad though, and we all do silly things and regret it, so don't worry. These things happen, and we learn from them.

oops.
but top marks for at least doing it in commedy style, through a leccy fence and the farmers comes along.
did he have his shot gun? LOL

  Turbos.
You live and learn. The main thing is that you've lived to tell the tale!

Damage looks pretty superficial, as long as there is no suspension/wheel damage i'd be inclined to leave most of it and get it properly sorted when you sell the car.

I just wanted to say sorry you had an accident... and you are very lucky it wasnt a tree another vehicle in your way, it could've been alot worse. :nono:

:) Lecture over!

  Clio 182
Yes, trees are definately not much fun, as i found out a quite a speed once - luckily we got away without it being worse... so much for the car though.

sorry to hear about your crash, as everyone else has said, it shouldnt cost you too much - you can probably find a wing at a scrappers, in the same colour if you're lucky
