AST Top mounts finally fitted :)

My question: Do the top mounts fit MK1s? If so, would i need AST coilovers to go with the top mounts?

I dont know if Dan is sorting out a group buy but when I spoke to Curtis last month he said there will be one he just needs to work out prices.

Yeah currently talking bout it with him. We will be doing a package which will include the coilovers and the top mounts all in. Ill get it sorted asap

got mine on now, gone for a different setup than dans more camber and castor, the build quality of these are amazing and my new settings have changed the car dramaticly again, cant wait to get her on track again. if the gb gets sorted you should all sell ure grans and get a set

the top mounts are adjustable in all directions not just left and right, you can mount them so they can do a bit of both or all castor adjustment, caster os affected by moving the strut top forward and back, camber by moving it left and right. ull see on sunday mine are mounted in a different orientation to dans

no there not. they have heavier springs and have been revalved. Not for road use at all.
They were built specifically for track use

On track i heard they were great but you wouldnt want to try them on the road lol.

Just spoke to curtis and you have more camber than me but you actually have less castor. I havent had as much camber as i use mine mainly as a road car and i dont need to run anymore camber than i am and dont want it to eat tyres.

im i right in thinking that phase 2's have more castor as standard than phase 1's?

Im sure ive read that its to do with the lower wishbones.

This would be why adey (even with the adjusted tops) would still have less than Dan?

as did i, not sure where tho lol, dan what are ures at? 182 is quite different to a ph1 172 suspension wise, might be a way to get desired settings by upgrading to 182 parts

not sure tbh. probably around 2 to 2.5 deg neg. More than enough for any use tbh whether it be track or road use.

no idea mate tbh. I just go by what curtis said to have on my car. I know how much knowledge etc he has and he said he wouldnt change a thing on my car in terms of my current setup as that is exacty how he would have it if it were his car. Good enough for me

AST is not far from me either, although i doubt if AST here in Holland has anything to do with these top mounts, although AST is Dutch.. ca'nt find anything about these on the site here in Holland. I think they were designed + produced in England ?

Nope. They were made and sent from AST in holland. Curtis at powerstation took the measurements on the cars in the uk and sent all the info and data to them at AST holland. They were then made there and developed there and shipped over to powerstation. There is no info about the clio on any of the AST websites as it hasnt been updated. Curtis is going to sort this out and get AST themselves to update the main website with the clio details and prices. U can find info about the clio kit on the uk site under the BLOG section

I remember seeing your car Dan outside the back at powerstation when u had them fitted! I wasnt jealous! Was having my car rolling roaded that day before i started modding it. Curtis said he could of done me a little deal on a set as i would of been the first 172 to av it done! Should of said YES!!!!! Hopefully you get a good price for us on the group buy! The mrs is thinking about it, would mean no more mods for me for ages! The ride height in this photo i took of your car that day looks spot on!
