At Nurburgring- Problem please look in

Hi Guys i have a 182 trophy and have complted 4 fantastic laps of the ring today. Noticed after my first lap that it had dumped its power steering fluid all over the floor (of the car park). its back at the hotel and im waiting for a garage to come and look it ( AA Cover ) A couple of mates are mechanics and they are sure its the hose which runs below the airbox. It looks like the metal part on the end of the hose has broken off.

What shall i do, is there a quick fix so i can drive it tmor ?

I think to be honest its going to have to be a ship home job really peed off

sound's like it could be that mate unless u can get a spare. what ever u don't drive it mite damage the pas pump. unlucky mate

Trying to get a spare at the moment. Joke is the local racing places have spares for clios as there prepping them for the renault world series but only the mk 3

and to correct confusion i didnt know on my first lap, i noticed on my LAST lap when i pulled into the car park. Luckily it looks like it went as i pulled off as it dumped it all in the car park... lol bit of a typo there ...

Unfortunately they are prone to doing this, and there is no indication that the hose is going to fail. Feel for you mate.

there will be loads of hydraulic places about i'd have thought mate.. there are loads over here anyway you see them about all the time.

24hr hose replacement and what not they get called out to tail lift hydraulics on lorrys and what not.. pas isnt normally there thing but i've had a few hoses made up by them. they should be able to join it together

Thats actually bad if you've done 4 laps with no PAS fluid, good chance the pump will be shot too.

Should be away with the pump as long as it didn't run too long without fluid, new hose refil and you should be away. Getting anywhere with it?

I have a pump collecting dust here tbh, if you need it its yours for postage costs. As I dont have a 182 anymore

They might have a part but good luck getting them to fit it right away!

Could he not have pulled the fuse out so the pump wasn't running and then drivin without powersteering??

Theres a few companys that i know of that make custom braided hoses, quite cheap too compared to renault, there must be somone like that over there! Easier said there though than done i admit!

Hi Guys

Im home now without my car :dapprove: im flying out next week to pick it up. Its being fixed by renault under warranty in france and if im honest i cant fault the renault dealership i took it too. The women spoke fantastic english and couldent be more helpfull.

Bit of a nightmare really but still had loads of fun and hope to go back in september. The car didnt run for long without any fluid, it litrally dropped it as i pulled into my space so i was VERY VERY lucky in that respect...

will post updates as they happen
