Audi R8

I just jumped at the chance of doing this beuty! She belongs to a guy that fly's up the airfield on a regular basis, I have always dreweled when its driven by! So saturday morning he dropped her off in our car park & handed me the keys saying 'take her for a spin around the airfield if you like' .... And I did!!! It was awesome!

Anyway, on with the detail. I was expecting her to need correction but was pleasantly surprised when I found the paintwork In very good condition. I took my time on her as I didn't need to give her back until Monday morning. It was heaven!

Total time = 16 Hours

Snow foam + Sour Power Mix applied to vehicle
Wheels cleaned with Smartwheels & variouse brushes
Tyres/arches cleaned with G101
Shuts/badges G01
Wash 1bm & Capro wash mitt & DJ m'fibre sponge
Tardis applied & wiped with a mf
Rinsed
Clayed BS & Megs bar
Snow Foam
Wash
Dried with Chemical Guys towels
Taped up
Engine bay cleaned with mf's & G101/Dressed with 303
Engine rear window cleaned with Plexus (Thanks to Maggi133!)
PT readings taken
DJ Lime Prime via Chicago Rotary LC polishing pad & 3m Polishing Spot pad
Rear Lights corrected, 3m green spot pad & megs 105
Z2 applied via mf app
Door shuts Prime Strong'd/ 303 on plastics
Windows cleaned with DJ Menthol
Interior wiped down, pedals G101 & Hoovered
Alloy faces z2'd & arches - Bare Bones applied
1st coat of SN Wax applied
Windows given the Nanolex Urban Glass Kit treatment - Awesome stuff!!!
Exhaust polished - Autosol
Tyres dressed - Wolfs
2nd coat of SN Wax applied
All external plastics treated with SN Trim Sealant
Final wipe down with Z8
Constant wipe downs to keep the dust off till 3pm when he picked her up!

The owner was absolutely delighted with her! I enjoyed every minute!

flol, the colour isn't too bad actually! When you see it in the flesh its alright, would have been better in black though! :evil: Either way, still an epic car! The noise is soo horny!

What are they like to drive? Theres alot of hate on here saying its a glorified TT etc, i like them personally, quick i believe too, monocoque chassis iirc?

Its got some poke! I didn't even try & it just wanted to go. The brakes on it were mental, steering was very heavy but i loved it! This one was an auto, with flappy padals etc.

I know nothing much about these cars!

Yep, same exact engine. The chassis is awesome too, nothing like a 'glorified TT'

In fact the newer TT's are great to drive also. Ok, maybe not great, but much, much better!

Awesome job. But probably the worst colour combo for the car.

I was thinking this, Looks darker in the flesh on his dad's motor.

Nice work though. Can't imagine how long it must of taken to do the side vents.

The vents took about 20 mins each side.

Its Wycombe Air Park in Bucks, I only go flying now & again!

Awesome work mate, funny this as i saw a red r8 just a couple of hours ago! this colour is like it marmite...you either love it or hate it, but yes granted there are better colours to choice from, but still nice.

I regard JD as a friend aswell as a fellow cleaner but that's beside the point my comment abut the colour was a lot worse on DW this morning before posting here.

JD's Dad's R8 really does look darker as mentioned by another member No bum licking Sir Revs.

Totally agree. Dad has waited for the Spyder V8 to come out as the V10 does not have the same burble at tick over and start up, and at low speeds.

Granted at 120 it sounds quite interesting, especially with the roof down
