Auto Finesse winter test: Tough coat

Took my time on uploading this. Weather has been poor and I couldn't be bothered in the freezing cold!

So I received a sample of Tough Coat and Spirit wax.

To be honest, I would have preferred a base for the wax but I've read good things about the tough coat.

So I checked out the tutorial on AF website. Very easy and straight forward. I began with giving the car a quick clean and the rain helped too!

Hit the bonnet with some IronX and Tardis to get some of the fallout. It wasn't heavily contaminated which I expected anyway. Then applied the Tough Coat using a wax applicator(brand new may i add)

Gave it 3 coats as it was so easy to apply. The shine is slightly better however nothing to shout about. I'll be using the wax on the wings I think. Heres some pictures, nothing special.

toughcoat really is a favourite product of mine, so easy to use and really gives more of a glossy wax finish than your traditional sealant finish. One of the best things about it is as its as easy to use as a quick detailer, it is so easy to add additional layers of protection provided it still comes up clean after your normal routine wash.

It also leaves a good base for waxing over to should you want to try it under spirit on one of your wings ;)

Didn't realise it could be used as a QD too

So can it be used before and after waxing ?

I think he means in place of a QD. If you have TC as your top layer (not wax) you can just top it up after a wash instead of using QD.

I love TC, haven't used in ages either so might use it in my clio winter prep :)

It is very glossy tbh, and it looks better with layers.

Perhaps the overcast weather didn't help the users perspective (and remember, LSP is generally only about 5% of looks anyway)

Everyone knows there are about 5 variants of TC from other companies. Why lie to people? It's a forum to help people.

To Seal & Protect is a intense synthetic liquid paint sealant that protects your paintwork and gives you a tough coat seal with a outstanding gloss and finish. Easy to use with just a spray!

Lol, blatant middle finger
