Aux belt- any warning signs?

Hello, as above reli, im on 39000 now, never rag my car at all as i cant be arsd with the problems that come from driving like that, aux hasnt been changed yet as wanting to hold out maybe another 6 month or so as cam will be due oct
this year so dnt want to pay fr aux now and then again 6 months time
any signs that the aux is going to go, sounds noices ect?
I think im going to have to get both done asap just to be on the safe side but reli cant aford it at the min without going into debt
any help or thoughts areciated

well starts off quiet and the more and more it is getting loose the louder and louder it gets. youtube it sure there will be examples

Cant say ive noticed anything when starting? What about when turning off the engine? I hav noticed abit of a squeek wenturnong off but nt sure if thats just being paranoid or with the reli cold weather, try nt to drive silly little journeys and walk to work but the odd day i drive its only abwt 2 mile journey

You'll notice it don't worry. Very audible screech noise that just doesn't sound healthy.

Mine squeaks a little bit on cold start but you can only hear it if you get on your hands and knees by the passenger foglight.

Meh belts being done on 18th anyway.

Cheers lads, come to think ov it when i first start up i get a bit of a noise from the pasenger foot well side but only lasts about 1 second when starting, not a noose that stays for a while its stops pretty much strate away after a second, do you think thats the noise from the aux?
How long would you wait personaly to get it done, i lnow its 36k and im 3k over that but do you think many are fine for a lot longer than that?

That could be a aux pulley with a worn bearing.

3k over ? get it done. Book it in at Birchdown or Hutchies garage mate. If it goes you will have a hell of a bigger bill to foot.

To farnfrom me mate, ive heard a place called tsw barker thats near me that are ren specialists? Do you think i should get aux and cam done together to save havong to get aux done again at end of year? Also any odeas how much it costs for both and just for aux?

Yes get them both done together. I'm getting both done for £406 at Birchdown. Don't pay more than £500 for both.

The amount of work it takes just to do the AUX you may as well get the cam done too or you will have to pay out another £400 for the cam doing. Think it's like an extra £80 in parts for the cam belt.

Whatever you do, get it done soon and definitely get both the aux and the cam belts done. This should include the tensioners.

I suggest you PM Hutchie & get it booked in there. I think he's the closest garage that 100% knows these cars, plus he's not that far from toon I don't think.
