aux belt slipping off

Doing weekly checks I noticed the aux belt had moved too rings off the pas pulley,
The aux kit was done less than a month ago and the belt is bowstring tight and I put tipex across crank pulley and thats not moved, garage thinks it might be pas pump but it makes no noises even on full lock
Any ideas ?

Lucky you caught it in time! It could be the alternator moving due to not being done up correctly (even thought the tension bolt is tensioned up)..talking from experience.

When I first got the car my aux belt snapped and wrapped round the crank a week later it dropped a valve, new engine is a month old, I got the belt put back on properly but im paranoid it does it again, don't want to changed pas if it dont need it and it turns out to be something els, shall I check the bolts ?

Id be taking it back to whoever fitted it.

I did, they inspected the belt and pulleys and couldn't find any damage or anything off they suggested replacing the pas pump as thats the pulley its jumping off.
Hence why I posted here,
I don't want to change the pump and and belt to find out its something else, its silly to take risks with aux belt as it eats the engine when it goes

Thats a -2 cold start does the pump sound on its way out ? The pulley looks wobbly to me. Not sure if thats normal

A competent garage should be able to diagnose if a pump or other part has failed. It'll be stiff to turn surely?

Its booked in tomorrow, I took it the guy that fitted my engine he is taking the belt off and checking everything,

Why dont you use a respected specialist off here and get it right the first time?

These threads keep popping up of yours all very similar, hope you get it sorted mate.

I had constant aux related issues, one thing after another, 3 different kits and a new engine, only original things are pas and aircon, if it has to come apart to fix one ill do both, the suspension brakes exhaust tre's ball joints clutch cams etc etc all be changed, I have 4k receipts in past 3 months on an 800 quid car lol

Should have got a medium boost build, you get all your belts done with that package and get small jobs like tre and ball joints done labour free while the cars in bits. Plus an extra 100hp and 100ftlb.

I know lol, there is not much left, of the original car except interior and body panels,
I have a new rs ordered so im sorted for a turbo
Its going for its first trackday next week so hopefully it stands up to it.

Just an update it was pas pump the bearing was fucked it was moving back and forward causing the belt to move, I suggest people check this when changing aux belt, if it slips off it kills the engine worth a 2 second check.
