Aux Belt

Car  172 cup
Hi all

I am having my car service soon and am wondering if I should get my aux belt done as the same time. The Cambelt was done by a specialist in feb and on the invoice it has just the aux belt only listed. Now I know on the aircon models it is highly advised to change the tensioners etc with the aux belt, however is this the same on the cup?

Chip to the rescue!! I would have looked but only had the car a week and its always cold and dark when I get a chance. on that note though, in the cold it is a little noisey, is that normal?

What is a little noisey?

The belt?

If so it sounds like it needs tensioning more, but DONT go and tighten it because someone on the internet says so, get a specialist to have a feel and tell you if thats the issue or not as I dont have enough info from you to really diagnose it.

its a whine when its started on a cold morning, think it could be the PAS or something. But dont worry I wont touch it, its going to BTM for a service and check so I will let Fred check everything over. Just mainly checking to make sure I didnt need to order anything.

If its a squeel that then goes away when its revved, thats likely to be it needs a little more tension, any other sort of noise could well be knackered bearings in the pump or the alternator etc.

Deffo a good idea to get to someone like Fred to investigate properly.
